چکیده

Background Adherence to treatment has been widely studied, but not adherence follow-up visits. Objectives To analyze factors associated loss for in patients with gout and a programmed visit the rheumatology office. Methods Analysis of data from an inception cohort prospectively followed-up university hospital setting. Variables include general data, along clinical characteristics gout, comorbidities, prescribed urate-lowering therapy (ULT). Those variables (p<0.20) bivariate analysis were included multivariate analysis. Patients who did attend because they passed considered as lost follow-up. Results From series 1,442 consecutive patients, 354 (24.5%) follow-up; 219 (15.2%) attended died between Mean until was 32 months vs. 49 still remained active Age (older), gender (women), pooled comorbidity (higher), severity (monoarticular), alcohol intake (<15 g/day), (MPR> 80%), previous (none), consultation (primary care), higher rates No association found persistence on time onset presence tophi, number flares per year, ULT. Estimating bias from loss to follow-up in a prospective cohort study of bicycle crash injuries

BACKGROUND Loss to follow-up, if related to exposures, confounders and outcomes of interest, may bias association estimates. We estimated the magnitude and direction of such bias in a prospective cohort study of crash injury among cyclists. METHODS The Taupo Bicycle Study involved 2590 adult cyclists recruited from New Zealand's largest cycling event in 2006 and followed over a median period ...

Factors associated with pre-ART loss-to-follow up in adults in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa: a prospective cohort study.

We assessed loss to follow-up (LTFU) correlates in HIV-positive adults accessing HIV treatment and care, not yet ART-eligible (CD4 >500 cells/mm(3)). METHODS This was a sub-study of a prospective cohort study (focusing on sexual behaviour) in an area of high H...
